Partnership for Justice builds the Capacity of Human Rights Defenders in Nigeria on Security, Protection Management and Peaceful Conflict Resolution.
Partnership for Justice with support from Das ifa (Institut für Auslandsbeziehungen) and Protection International conducted a comprehensive training program on security and protection management for human rights defenders.
The training program was designed to enhance the capacity of human rights defenders in identifying security and protection risks, develop effective security plans, and implementing measures to mitigate risks. The program also covered key topics such as digital security, risk assessment, self-care, and advocacy for protection.
The training program was conducted by experienced security and protection experts, Sam Maina and Itoro Eze-Anaba with extensive knowledge and skills in working with human rights defenders. Participants also had the opportunity to learn from experts with practical experience in managing security and protection risks in different contexts and situations.
Participants in the training program were human rights defenders from different fields, including activists, journalists, lawyers, and civil society organizations working to defend human rights. The program is particularly relevant for those who work in high-risk contexts or face threats to their safety and security.
Through this training program, Partnership for Justice aimed to contribute to the safety and protection of human rights defenders and to strengthen their capacity to continue their important work in defending human rights. We believe that this program will be a valuable tool in building the resilience and capacity of human rights defenders in the face of increasing threats and challenges.
